Shaykh Abdul Hameed is a traditionally trained Islamic scholar from Leicester. He graduated as an ‘Alim from Jamea Uloomul Quran, Leicester, under the patronage of Hazrat Shaykh Adam حفظه الله. During his studies, he also completed the memorisation of the Qur’an.

Grounded in traditional Islamic scholarship, Shaykh Abdul Hameed has a particular passion for making the Qur’an accessible to people from all walks of life. He has a unique ability to simplify Qur’anic passages and present their timeless guidance in a way that speaks to the realities, challenges and questions of contemporary life.

Having studied modern psychology and education, he has developed a deep interest in human behaviour, emotional wellbeing, relationships and the connection between the inner self and our outward lives. His understanding of psychology complements his traditional Islamic education, allowing him to explore emotional and relational challenges through both contemporary and faith-based perspectives.

His work is driven by a desire to serve people and strengthen communities. He has a particular passion for supporting young people and has been involved with a number of organisations working to meet their educational, emotional and spiritual needs.

With experience as a secondary school teacher in a Leicester state school, Shaykh Abdul Hameed has developed a deep understanding of the challenges facing young people and families today. Alongside his educational work, he lectures extensively across the UK and has also been invited by organisations in different parts of the United States to deliver lectures and programmes.

Beyond his scholarly and professional life, he has a passion for martial arts, motorbikes and cars. These interests, together with his diverse experiences, enable him to connect naturally with people from different backgrounds and generations.

His work brings together the insights of modern psychology and Islamic psychology, with a particular emphasis on developing emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence. Through this integration, he seeks to help people understand not only the mind and emotions, but also the heart, soul and deeper purpose of human life, and ultimately to help individuals and families move towards greater sakinah, meaning and wellbeing.

His work is grounded in:

  • Traditional Islamic Scholarship
  • Qur’anic Teaching
  • Islamic Psychology
  • Emotional and Spiritual Wellbeing

At the heart of his work:

A desire to reconnect people with the Qur’an, and to help them understand themselves, their relationships and their lives through the guidance of Islam.

Our approach

We don’t believe in simply telling people what they should do.

We listen first.

We try to understand the person, the relationship and the circumstances around them.

Then we work together to explore what may help and what could happen next.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you reach out.

You don’t have to carry it alone.
